So I have decided to make my own version of
the cool wall to put the record straight, correct Jeremy's mistakes, and give
you your say in the Cool Wall Forum. But what makes a car cool? Well there is no single factor to this, every car that is cool is cool for a different reason. As a general rule blandness, and ordinariness is the way not to being cool, car makers today seem to be constantly trying to out-bland each other, yes they make interesting concept cars, but they never bother to make them incase they upset old fogies that buy their cars. If you look back in time cars were all different and individual and were designed with flair, today they aren't. They often blame this on regulations, but it's really down to a lack of vision and courage. Car makers just see another car company doing well so they copy them, simple as that. Just look at how car makers are all trying to make their cars look German (see Vauxhall Vectra), or how they are all churning out stupid SUVs, even Alfa Romeo are thinking about it, a diesel tractor Alfa Romeo? Well that's a lesson on how to make a cool brand instantly uncool. And why the hell do all new cars look like vans than cars, getting taller and taller and uglier and uglier? It is possible to still make cool cars, so the car makers should get their act together and make some cool cars again!
The Cool Wall is ever expanding so if you have any suggestions for cars you would like to see on the cool wall, email them to suggestions@thecoolwall.com
